Ten Tips to Relieve Hemorrhoid PainWritten By Callum MartinezMany people suffer from hemorrhoid pain every day and need to find treatments that will bring them relief. Here is a list of the ten hemorrhoid remedies that worked best for me.
1. Put your feet up. I love to walk and I have a job that requires me to spend a lot of time on my feet. I have found that simply putting my feet up for 10-15 minutes a few times a day reduced hemorrhoid swelling. 2. Drink plenty of water. I try to drink 10 glasses of water a day. This can be difficult when you are away from home but you can make up for it by drinking a glass or two first thing in the morning and again before going to bed at night. I have made it a habit to drink a large glass of water first thing in the morning, when I get home from work and a small glass before going to bed. 3. Eat a high fiber dessert. I have found that an easy way to add necessary fiber to my diet is to eat high fiber desserts such as fruit or dates instead of cookies or ice cream. Fruit may not be as exciting as cookies and ice cream but it will help you ease any constipation problems you may be having. 4. Enjoy warm baths. I have found that warm baths at the end of the day helps to relieve my hemorrhoid pain. This is a relaxing way to end the day. 5. Try talcum powder. Someone told me that using a dab of talcum powder on the hemorrhoid area after bathing helps healing by keeping the area dry. I apply talcum powder daily and it does seems to help. 6. Use witch hazel. When I am away from home I use witch hazel wipes to clean the area. I have found that witch hazel reduces minor hemorrhoid swelling and it definitely helps keep the area clean. These wipes come in packets that are discreet and easy to carry. 7. Use OTC hemorrhoid treatments. when I am having one of my occasional flare-ups I use hemorrhoid suppositories You can get these at the pharmacy or buy them online. 8. Take a fiber supplement. When I started out trying to cure my hemorrhoid condition I took some oral remedies that included fiber supplements. This helped me regulate my bowel movements so that I was not straining so much on the stool. I no longer need to take these since I've incorporated sufficient fiber and water into my diet. 9. Use ice packs. I used ice packs on the affected area when I was experiencing a great deal of swelling This was very effective and not as uncomfortable as I thought it might be. 10. Get enough sleep. I have been reading about some recent studies that indicate that the body heals itself during sleep. I always found that my hemorrhoid condition was improved after a restful night's sleep or after a short nap. These are the simple hemorrhoid treatments that helped me find relief from my hemorrhoid pain. Most of these simple treatments cost very little or nothing at all. If you are experiencing hemorrhoid pain I encourage you to try some of these simple treatments and see if they work for you!
